It can be funny who you meet at your child’s bus stop in the morning. In my case, a couple whose children go to the same school as mine also happen to be residential builders in Ottawa and had their own custom built infill just down the street. They also needed some proper interior photography to showcase their craftsmanship.
The house is clean and simple in design, with an open floor-plan allowing for light to cascade into the home throughout the day. The kitchen allows for some bold pops of colour, which you can also find tastefully integrated in other areas of the home.
I really liked the detail that went into the staircase. You can see that it’s narrow, but they still managed to do something unique with the edges of the wood giving it a visual appeal in an otherwise sparse space. The upstairs master bathroom was another signature area with a colourful dividing wall between the shower and toilet area. Again, you can see some glass at the end to allow natural light to flow through.
BuiltHBKG is a small Ottawa builder, creating modern homes at affordable prices. I’m looking forward to working with them again on some of their newer developments as they come up.
