I’m hesitant to label the work I do for MediaStyle as “corporate photography” as their business has never seemed to follow a conventional corporate-commercial flow. Their own website says “We are a progressive public affairs agency. A Social Enterprise making Canada a better place.” And in the almost six years I’ve known and worked with Ian and his team, that’s exactly what they’ve done.
From the a shared office space to occupying two floors on Bank Street, the office’s transformation has been as dramatic as their team’s growth and influence. For this shoot, I focused on their recently renovated office integrating the team at-work. I always enjoy working on spaces with people in them, it gives everything a sense of scale and purpose, and can be more compelling than design for designs-sake. To better display the open space I created wide panoramic images, allowing for a greater sense of connectivity within the location and, I hope, telling the story of the people within it.
