It’s day 48 of the Ottawa Transit strike, and aside from being unable to consistently buy groceries, I couldn’t care less. In Toronto I would have been completely home-bound without recourse – everything is too far away. But I live centrally in Ottawa enough that I can manage I can walk to most places I need to get to, and even get the “basics” from my local whatever’s-around.
Not to mention some of the OC transpo’s more ambitious endeavours (pictured are the tracks for the O-Train, which goes back and forth over a half dozen north to south stations and that’s it), weren’t really useful to me anyways. So strike all you want guys, as far as I can tell, the city’s doing fine without ya.
